How to Set Up a Home Jet Pump With a Pressure Tank

Apply three wraps of plumber's tape on the threads of each connection union at the inlet and outlet pipes. Align the inner ends of each union, and screw on the ring nuts at each. Use a pipe wrench as a backup as before, and tighten the nuts securely at each union. Install the saved lock washers and nuts on each anchor bolt, and tighten the nuts securely with the socket and ratchet. Flip up the handle on the relief valve to the locked open position. Turn on the breaker for the electrical circuit to the pump.

Allow any air in the system to escape at the relief valve. Close the lever on the valve when water streams out.
